NY 094 whoosh! haha OP over. good job guys. you all done well :) dun worry too much about the Q and A. i think we will do acceptably well i hope. Especially after that we are selected as one of the better groups for the filming. i think it is an acknowlegment to our effort. Opps i can help feeling proud about the effort that we have put in. Toast to all!
Thanks alot to my group members, thanks for being such wonderful people to work with.
Firstly thank you Perrine for being such a responsible leader. You know sometimes we really feel like slacking, but u were also there to push us to do our stuff and help us keep track of the time. Because of you, we nvr failed to hand in our work on time. Thank you for being so patient with us. You really made a good leader and a prominent figure of our group. Somehow you got the X factor that made us respect you as our leader and we would follow your instructions. haha i rmb the time you manage to get CT into doing his work by hoaxing him with the SIMS 2 in your phone. So effective, he is like a lil kid desperate to play with your hp.
Secondly thank you Chor Theng for coming out with such a wonderful groundbreaker for us to extend our ideas on. Without you, we wouldnt even know who Ray kroc is and our project may be just another common thought of groundbreaker. During the PW cycle, i realised that you are a great thinker who thinks deeply and able to come out with such great and creative ideas. And the intensive research work you done is really handy. i must say i am impressed by your thinkings and maturity at times. but whenever you start teasing me, i began to feel that you are also quite childish. And somehow thinking of what to write about you now reminds me of your silly zombie actions and your random laughters which makes you look like..... a retard.
Thirdly, thank you Sutha for the beautiful presentation slides. The designs were marvellous. Thanks to your mum for the help as well. To me coming out with a ppt is nvr fun especially when you have to standardise the fonts, think of pictures to put in... it is so tedious! you were great :)
Fourthly, thank you Sheldon for being such a nice clicker. Although we din believe your clicking at first, fearing that you will fall asleep halfway :P but eventually we managed to fix the coordination. thank you for being so alert. Rare to see you so alert. Great to see you so serious in PW.
Last but not least, thank you to a very special person who had help us tremendously in our project, giving us so insightful comments. this person is none other than Mr Tonny Lim. i heard alot of comments by the other classes about their tutors, and i feel really blessed to have such a hardworking teacher. it is really touching to know that you took the trouble to find and get he contact of Suhaimi, a NYJC J2 floor manager, for us after we told you that you that we wanted to conduct an interview. Everytime we recieve back a piece of work, we know that you took pains to analyse and read carefully every single word of our work and indicate the sentences that are GOI of A&E. Even at the last stage, you stayed back with us everyday to see our OP rehersals despite your hectic schedule, helping us improve our presentation skills and giving us a whole list of questions to prepare us for the Q and A which i assume you compiled yourself because i notice that there was a faint picture of a person playing football, i think you recycled paper again. and i also realise that other classes were not given the notes. We greatly appeciate your efforts and we hope that our results will not disappoint you.
Recalling back the ups and downs of the whole project cycle brings a pleasant feeling to have overcome it all. Especially during the intial stage of the OP, when we saw the slides of the other groups, we were demoralised. and the failure in making the model make us even more pek cek. When everything started to take shape again, we regained our confidence. And now, we were even recognised by the assessors. lol. the cheif moderator even want us to give a presentation to the J1 next year to inspire them, because they saw that we enjoyed PW. well, i wouldnt deny that although many may think that i am crazy. but as i mentioned la, there are ups and downs. of course nobody likes the down part. Although we are not the strongest team, but i must say we are one of the most bonded group with zero amount of conflict and least amount of gossiping of our group members.
ok, after all the thanking and reflections, now for the more eventful stuff that happen today. Today's presentation our group got improvement, except me. stubble and trip on words. but overall still alright i guess? Q and A was a killer for some of us. We dint manage to predict our question at all. Sutha damn funny. Here's what happen...
Assessor: "ok, sutha can you tell me why you choose suntec convention hall as choice of venue for the carnival?"
Sutha: "You asking me ar?"
that's not the end. After Sutha finished answering, she turned to her seat and blurted "Wa lao!" she said it so loud that the assessors heard it. lol. The assessors were laughing and Sutha still innocently believe that she said it quite softly. we told is not. after that she was quite afraid that the assessors would penalise her for saying wa lao. So she apologised to the assessors. another assessor told her that they are judged on her fluency and content of the answer so it doesnt matter. she had the peace of her mind now.
We were the last group and after the presentation, the teachers told us we can only be dismissed after 1pm. so we use the time to tear out our scripts and the visual aid which is the McDonald's coupons. After the assessors came back into the classroom. they had a small discussion and said that our group may be selected for filming because they were impressed. they discussed with the cheif moderator and confirmed that we are selected. i was quite stunned and was like "Argh!! My script!!" So, went to film without the script. End up stumbling even more and talk cock. Had a second round of Q and A with the same questions. But Sheldon still couldnt answer his qn. True la his one was the most difficult. And during the filming, we tried to be really really serious. but Sutha made another mistake which made us burst into laughter. Perrine and i was trying very hard to suppress it. but i saw CT, his whole face turn red, bent down to hide his face and continued laughing. We started giggling. then couldnt take it anymore, Ahh Sutha, how can you mix up IMF with IMH? is IMF not IMH!! Mr Loke said "aiyah, why you all laugh?" Sorry Mr Loke we couldnt help it.
Had our celebration after that at McDonald's. A very good place to celebrate our end of our PW indeed. haha, i had fun la. gonna need some time to get over the post OP blues. :)

My holiday seemed to be quite packed, engaging myself with tonnes and tonnes of activities. 8 days drama camp, science focus, CIP, family chalet, 4five chalet, family chalet, overseas trip, studying sessions and mb a new job? CIP (coaching little children at kovan's student care centre) last fri was great. Except for the incident which i mistook a girl whom i coach as a boy. Sorry Emily. Argh so paiseh.
The incident goes like this la, there was another girl who called out to me and said "Can you call that girl?" i scanned around my area. "which one?" thinking where got girl around me. the little girl pointed to Emily. Then i said "Huh? He is a boy what?" Fortunately Emily dint hear. if not she will be heartbroken. then i saw her paper, the name written there was emily. that time i was thinking got guy call emily one meh? After the whole session Alice corrected me. then did i realised that the whole session is was actually coaching a girl. hehe abit slow hor? no wonder the other boy beside her was teasing her about her hairstyle and she said her mother cut her hair in this way. ok, everything make sense now.
oh ya, and another incident where i was kinda fed up because Emily and another boy was "fighting" to be taught first. i tried to be fair la. try all sort of ways, scissors paper stone, who wins who get to be taught first, first come first serve basis and trying to explain that i cant split myself into two, threatening them that i dun want to teach already. but sadly always to no avail. One will just cover the other's paper and said "No! Cher, you teach me first." They are so KS, but damn cute la.
Dunno if i will be able to go for the last session next week. mum not please with me going out and returning so late. but i have to say i enjoy teaching those little children. it is really a challenge to keep them discipline to complete their own work because they tend to be overdependent for answers. some have the hack care attitude because they will be allowed to play only after they finished their work. it is also good training for me to portray a sense of authority, bec i am too soft hearted at times already.

open house o7
Open house this year wasnt as successful as last year's. Especially when AJ, CJ were holding the open house on the same day. aiyah i know alot of my juniors will sure go AJ's open house. kind of disappointed that i only saw suria and her friends came. WHERE ARE THE REST HAR?????? promise mi then nvr come har har har? you guys get it from me nxt time. (joking la) ya la, i know some of your preparing for ur o-levels. work hard guys, ur efforts will pay off eventually.
i should say that Jing Qi was a very good director. i had the opportunity to witnessed how she directed. how she managed to transform Jerome and make him become more expressive. previously, i thought jerome was a very shy person. but during the practices, it made me see the other side of him. All thanks to jing qi. Not only was she able to address the technical problems but also look into the spiritual and emotional side of her actors and actresses, giving neccessary encouragement and induce fun and laughter into the dry and stressful practices. and of course not giving overly critical comments. this is sth that i learnt from her. she made a good leader. i guess hui jun would have agreed with me right?
This year's open house was rather memorable. i got to skate in the school canteen. how cool is that? haha. luckily i still know abit of how skate. if not kanna suan by chor theng again. smelly CT, curse me fall down. Initially my legs still trembling, cause i haven been skating for quite a while after that accident when i was skating alone at East Coast. i overcame that minor phobia. ^-^
Sherf and i met up with kathy, hui long @ AMK hub. Had dinner with them at my favourite noodles shop :). hui long said it was an eventful trip. i had to agree a lot of things happen lo. damn funny. hui long and kathy were choosing individual rings at the couple lab when his aj friends saw him. still rmb hui long's face turn into a tomato. lol. shant cont the rest of the story. anyway hui long dun feel too bad about their random remarks. i am sure they dun mean it. furthermore it was nice to know that u miss us so much. :) i had great fun with you guys. you all really made my day :D
